It is imperative to have a website, especially for small businesses and start-ups.
As a consumer of goods and services, I value the ability to go to the web and learn about a business, even if it’s presented from their perspective. Other than the very elderly, I do not know of anyone doesn’t use the Internet to find or research - businesses, products or services. Knowing that, why a business would choose not to have a website is perplexing. Creating one is more affordable than ever, with most hosting services offering user-friendly, do-it-yourself templates that eliminate the need to hire a developer.
Here's my 4 reasons why I believe a website is an essential advertising tool for small businesses:
1. Websites are the most popular method for researching a business or company.
2. All direct or indirect advertising will lead back to your website.
3. The website is the single most relevant advertising asset:
Nearly every contact, prospect or customer will visit a company's website.
It is likely to be the first “presentation” (and impression) of your business for any new visitor.
It may be the most important opportunity to showcase your company’s product or service.
4. The website provides the best overall value as an advertising asset:
It is continuously accessible 24/7, 365 days a year.
It provides an autonomous presentation of your business.
It is the most economical, continuous advertising medium.
I hope this will inspire you into considering developing a website for your business.
